IS THE GLASS HALF-FULL OR HALF-EMPTY?
As the Bard would ask, “To be or not to be” is the question. Never before has there been so much |
debate or controversy over the Secretary-General’s Report to the United Nations Security Council on Sierra Leone than the fallout from Michael Schulenburg’s last report to the world body. Most people thought that he had given an evenhanded situation report to the UN organ including the lethal arms importation which the government had tried to conceal and only came out with that strange press release when documents about the deal were leaked to the media. ...Read More |

NO NEED FOR APC TO BE SCARED OF MAADA BIO, HE IS THE
SON OF THE SOIL
He offered to join the army to provide national service after Bo School when when he could have gone to work for himself to earn a living for his family.
Upon joining the army, he was sent to the highly dangerous Lungi garrison to protect the airport against RUF take-over and to guarantee international travel.
He was one of the few Sierra Leone soldiers selected and sent by ECOMOG to fight against Charles Taylor in Liberia.
When Foday Sankoh and the RUF rebels attacked, President Momoh called him back to defend Sierra Leone against the RUF rebels.
When Strasser refused to prepare the country for the multi party elecions, Bio stepped forward to make sure the preparations continued forward to allow the multi party elections to take place in agreement with international support.
The elections were held very peacefully with international acceptance of its outcome. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio immediately prepared the country for a smooth transfer of power to the winner of the elections.
The SLPP party, led by President Kabba, formed the new democratically elected civilian government of Sierra Leone. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio went into the history books as the first military government to handover to a civilian government without force or pre-conditions.

Ever since the APC government came to power, all development projects that had started under their watch have been directed straight into the Northern Province. It looks like the sole objective of the APC is to develop the Northern Province where they have their largest political support and where the majority of their tribes are located, and hence, the majority of their leadership come from. They are using this divisive tactics in their national development initiatives to develop only their tribal and regional areas while leaving the rest of Sierra Leone to remain in the doldrums of backwardness. ...Read More

The APC Tanks From China To be in Freetown In October just before elections. |
CHINESE KILLER TANKS NOW ON ORDER BY THE APC FOR THE ELECTIONS: It seems as if the APC government has seen the writing on the wall, and they are not wasting any time getting ready to go to war if they happen to lose the election in November, 2012. So they are preparing to retain the government by all means necessary including at the expense of innocent voting Sierra Leonean citizens. If the APC denies that their deadly weapons are for waging war if they lose the elections, then why did they spend $14,000,000 on these deadly weapons when Sierra Leoneans are suffering?
-
There are hundreds of thousands of unemployed youth.
-
Thousands of college graduates without jobs looking to make a living.
-
Hundreds of miles of roads under construction still unfinished for lack of money.
-
Young children walking the streets as petty traders instead of attending school.
-
Health facilties at their very worst ever and unable to provide necessary healthcare to the public. ...Read More |

The UN Envoy In Sierra
Leone giving a report to the General Assembly |
UN ENVOY REPORTS TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY WITH CONCERN ABOUT THE APC ARMS PURCHASE: The APC government has had more run-ins with the United Nations than any other government in the history of Sierra Leone. The United Nations has consistently used diplomatic language to denounce and admonish the violent tendencies and activities of the APC government supporters ever since it came to power. It has been diplomatically reprimanded time and again over a series of incidents that have occured under their administration including the infamous stoning of the main opposition SLPP party's Flag Bearer, Julius Maada Bio by APC thugs in Bo City. The United Nations envoy in Sierra Leone, who is leaving for other assignments, has openly expressed disgust over the new massive importation of deadly weapons of war by the APC government for its Paramilitary wing of the Sierra Leone Police. This offensive action undertaken by the government seem to have contravened many international agreements between Sierra Leone and organizationsl like the UN, AU and ECOWAS ...Read More |

APC ARMS IMPORT SCANDAL: The Security Council Rebukes The APC Government On The Massive Arms Import: Last week we hinted that although the Government ultimately may escape with only egg on its face - well-deserved, no doubt - for lying about its clandestine arms purchase, the story will still continue to make waves. Just this week, the United Nations Security Council took its turns to scold the Government – like a mischievous schoolboy being reprimanded for bad behaviour. Of particular significance, the statement was issued on behalf of the Security Council by its current President, United States Permanent Representative, Susan Rice. ...Read More |

APC PROPAGANDA AND THE "KAILAHUN" PICTURES: APC Using Govt. Events For Propaganda And Electioneering
By
The SLPPNA Rapid Response Team

APC’s New Propaganda Guru? When Karamoh Kabba was recruited by APC in the 2007 run-off election, after having been a staunch leader of the PMDC Communications Rapid Response Team, the first thing he did was to allegedly show his mettle of commonality with the APC caboodle.
He allegedly staged an accident in which the Le 50,000,000 he was carrying on official APC business automatically disappeared yengh! without a trace. Generally the conclusion was that, it was the validation of Karamoh Kabba’s initiation rite into the APC party to make them know that he has the same APC mettle even though he was coming newly from PMDC.

THE APC ARMS DEAL: A SPECIAL INSIGHT
“The forthcoming elections in November will be the major challenge for the Country’s nascent democracy…against this background, reports that the Government has imported assault weapons worth millions of dollars in January of this year to equip a recently enlarged Paramilitary wing of its police, the Operational Services Division (OSD), are of great concern. Sierra Leone is under no arms embargo…it is not clear why the police would need such weapons – especially as this shipment, according to a leaked bill of laden, appears to include heavy machine guns and even grenade launchers. I would urge the Government to fully clarify these reports and, if true, explain the intended use of these weapons.”
Those were the words of a very worried internationally acclaimed diplomat, the outgoing Executive Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Michael Von der Schulenburg, in a statement to the UN Security Council on 22nd March 2012. With over 50,000 people killed in over a decade-long civil war – a war which started under the leadership of the current ruling party, the APC, in 1991, the Sierra Leone People’s Party under the leadership of President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah brought the war to an end officially in January of 2002.
The agony of the war and its horrendous thoughts are enough to make an already traumatic citizenry genuinely nervous and concern about the importation of arms into the country particularly at a time when the ruling party – a party which has never conducted a free and fair election in its history, is about to conduct a nation-wide election that is expected to be free and fair. Without leaked news of heavy arms import, the people are therefore already very concerned in retrospect of this dark past. News of the leaked arms import has created a nightmare across the country and has only now compounded an already bad situation of serious security concern.
